OTRT Wednesday Club
Join us for our after-school program for Falls Church City elementary students on early release Wednesdays! Children grades K-5 can participate in an afternoon of arts and crafts, outdoor time, homework centers, and fun play activities at the historic Scout House on S. Spring Street. Snacks and structured supervision will be provided too!
Ms. Pamela Freeman, a friend of Sue John’s, will be helping us out with Wednesday Club. Her daughter Kayla is a senior at George Mason High School, as was her father Bill, who grew up in Falls Church City and graduated from GMHS. Bill served in the Air Force. Pam was in the Navy and then worked for the government before taking up teaching. She was an assistant special needs teacher with Fairfax County Public schools. Pam is glad that her daughter Kayla is planning to study early childhood development upon graduation. Pam volunteers for various organizations, enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing and painting and will bring that and more with her when she joins us. I am grateful to have her volunteer her time with us. She is taking over from Uma Bhusal who needed to move on for personal reasons.
The respective schools and the transportation departments have been informed accordingly. Pam will meet the children at the usual spot at TJ and chaperone them to either the bus stop where the Mt Daniel bus drops off the children or walk them over to the scout house. Sue will meet up with them at that bus stop.
